Trident Gaming, owners and operators of the online casinos site Gamebookers, have recently announced that they have 'bought' Vladimir Petrovic, a basketball star for Aris, a Greek League 1 basketball team. The online casinos site has agreed to pay Petrovic's wages for the club. The basketball star, who previously played for Aris from 1999-2001, was part of Siena Montepaschi, an Italian team last season. He now rejoins Aris with more experience, which will hopefully give the Greek team the edge it needs to reach the top of the European and Greek tables.
John O'Malia, Trident Gaming and Gamebookers CEO, had this to say about the signing: 'This purchase is the first of its kind anywhere in the world,' said Trident Gaming and Gamebookers CEO John O'Malia. 'Never before has a sponsor actually bought a player for a club, but we hope to help Aris compete at the highest level.' Online casinos Gamebookers fans will surely be pleased with Petrovic joining the family. This contract will increase the value of the existing sponsorship of Aris for the 2005-2006 season the online casinos site already holds.
Online casinos fans can only wait and see how this sponsorship/'acquisition' is going to affect Gamebookers. Hopefully it will have the effect that the online casinos site was aiming for when it signed Petrovic to its enterprise.
